Nesting season runs March 1 – October 31. Loggerheads are most common, but greens, leatherbacks, Kemp's ridleys, and hawksbills also nest here. In August, hatchlings emerge at night after ~60 days.
Turtle Walks — Sebastian Inlet
June–July, the Friends of Sebastian Inlet State Park offer free Turtle Walks to watch nesting loggerheads. Limited to 20 people, beginning at 9pm. Rangers mark nests and may count eggs on the spot.
Kayaking
Paddle the Indian River Lagoon for a chance to spot dolphins and manatees up close. Rentals available at Vero Tackle & Watersports (3321 Bridge Plaza Dr) and the Environmental Learning Center.
